Saflex® SG solar absorbing interlayer is an effective, high visible light transmitting, solar control product designed to produce laminated glass with enhanced solar heat gain performance as compared to monolithic clear glass and laminates made with standard clear PVB interlayer. Saflex SG is specially formulated for the architectural market and has the capability to meet or exceed regulations for laminated safety glass when properly selected, laminated, and installed. Plus, Saflex SG is specifically formulated to provide exceptional durability when exposed to natural weathering.

With a nominal light transmittance of 74% and a SHGC of 0.55 in clear 3mm (1/8 in) glass, Saflex SG is designed for use in exterior laminated glazing, especially targeted for markets that require solar control configurations not easily adapted to the inclusion for low-e glazing or complex configurations. Plus, SG can be used as the primary interlayer, in conjunction with other Saflex and Vanceva interlayers, with colored, spectrally selective and coated glasses and when laminated, as one or more lites of an insulating glass unit (IGU).

Saflex SG interlayer also provides all the benefits of safety, glass shard containment, structural integrity, sound abatement, security and storm protection when used in the proper configurations.
