Available for all glazing positions, including glass roofs, glass laminated with Saflex interlayer provides noticeably more UV protection inside vehicle than standard UV management glass.

Occupant Protection
Saflex interlayer blocks UVb and UVa rays, across the range of 280 to 400nm. Because it blocks 95% of these UVb and UVa rays from entering the vehicle, laminated glass acts like a sunscreen, protecting vehicle occupants against this harmful radiation (excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation can damage skin.)
Vehicle Interior Protection
The critical UV protection also deters degradation and discoloration of interior upholstery, carpet and trim, especially leather and wood. This keeps interiors looking newer, lasting longer and helping to enhance resale values.
Product Performance Characteristics
Depending on light transmission and UV protection requirements, clear interlayer products can be combined with colored glass or colored PVB to create a match for all glazing positions.
Because the characteristics of Saflex products are built into the interlayer rather than the glass, enhanced UV protection is achieved without the glare or reflectivity often associated with glass incorporating metal film technology.
Using UV absorbing glass as a component of the laminated glazing system can further enhance the performance of Saflex products.
Product Stability
Saflex interlayer is produced with pigments that result in superior heat and light stability characteristics. Results from long-term natural exposure testing and accelerated aging tests, prove that Saflex products provide years of unaltered performance in UV exposure applications. In addition to solar control and UV protection, laminated glass made with Saflex interlayer can also provide the following benefits:
