Designing with Saflex® Color Interlayer
Saflex color interlayer provides a range of 13 earth tone colors in shades of blues, grays, greens, browns and bronzes that can be used in interior and exterior applications. These shades were created to match industry standard glass tints. Saflex color interlayer allows architects and designers to achieve varying light transmissions without having to vary glass thickness or sacrifice structural performance. And they are made with heat - and light-stable pigments instead of dyes to resist fading.
Designing with the Vanceva Color Interlayer System
The Vanceva color interlayer system can produce a broad spectrum of colors and moods that are unachievable using stock selections of glass. With this system, interlayers can be combined to produce over 1,000 transparent, translucent or opaque color options to help you create the perfect tone and intensity. Now architects and designers can have all the proven performance benefits of laminated glass plus more creative freedom with glass than ever before possible. The Vanceva color interlayer system is proven for use in curtain walls, atriums, skylights, partitions and conference rooms, allowing designs to be their most expressive and beautiful with distinctive hues from subtle to dramatic. When Vanceva color interlayer is combined with tinted or reflective glass, the design possibilities are nearly endless.
Translucent Colors
If a project requires a frosted look for design or privacy reasons, a translucent color can be created by adding a white Vanceva interlayer to the color mix.
Opaque Colors
Opaque Vanceva interlayer, when added to any other color selection, will also make that color opaque. Pure white can be combined with any color to make glass opaque, while at the same time creating completely different looks on each side of the glass.
Specialty Colors
Very concentrated colored pigments in a single interlayer are now enough to add brilliant hues to laminated glass. Deep Red, True Blue and Tangerine can be combined with varying levels of white or foundation palette colors to achieve even more distinctive looks!
Fade-resistant
Vanceva color interlayers system are made with heat- and light-stable pigments instead of dyes to produce colors that resist fading. When subjected to vigorous test conditions, Vanceva color interlayers retain their colorfast properties and their structural stability. The colors are layered between two pieces of glass, so they are easy to maintain and clean. These interlayers are available worldwide with easy access to replacement glass.
How to Specify using the Vanceva Color Interlayer System
Vanceva Color Interlayer Formulation Codes
A Vanceva color interlayer formulation code is an identification number for a particular color. One to four sheets of interlayer are typically used for the construction of the laminated glass. Since the maximum number of interlayers is four, each color composite has been assigned a four-digit number.
Vanceva Color Interlayer Foundational Palette
The Vanceva color interlayer system consists of eight base colors in two transmission levels of each—yellow, red, blue, black and white. These base colors layered in different combinations can produce more than 1,000 transparent or translucent color options to help you create the perfect tone and intensity in interior and exterior applications.
Laminated Glazing Has Additional Benefits
In addition to aesthetic benefits, Saflex and Vanceva interlayers provide all the other benefits inherent to laminated glass, including safety, security, sound reduction and solar protection. Saflex and Vanceva Storm provide hurricane protection in specified configurations. These interlayers also allow architects and designers to design with superior aesthetic and solar benefits.
