The Saflex Solution for Solar Module Manufacturers
In recent years, significant advances in solar technology have led to the development of cost effective solutions that will soon reach cost parity with more traditional forms of energy production. Thin Film solar cell technology has come forward as a primary solution in this fast growing market.
Today, Saflex polyvinyl butyral (PVB) interlayer has emerged as the preferred encapsulate material for use in Thin Film solar cells. This is due to the inherent qualities Saflex brings to traditional laminated glass including: improved edge stability, adhesion, moisture content, durability and safety. In addition, the scalability of Saflex enhances production optimization, contributing to a lower "cost per watt" delivered cost.
Solar modules made with Saflex® PA61 have been shown to comply with PV industry standards. Certificates are granted to module manufacturers rather than the encapsulant supplier but the commercial operation and sale of PV modules made with Saflex by current module manufactures confirms the ability of Saflex PA61 to meet these standards.
